We spent the lunar new year holiday at Hae Dong Yong Gung Temple which is about a 15 minute bus ride away and right alongside the cliffs of the ocean. It was first built hundreds of years ago but was a target of war and continued to be burned down time and time again. It was most recently restored in 1970 and was packed with Korean tourists ( I think Yvon and I were one of 4 or 5 foreigners there today!) As Korea follows the Chinese calendar, they are now entering the year of the pig. We happened to take our picture with two such pigs. We also saw that a lot of the gardens within the temple had Bamboo trees... that was a first for me and I think I secretly wanted to take one home with me...maybe next time!
