Howdy! We are here in Narita, Japan, within spitting distance from the airport where we are resting for our first night in Asia. We are both very impressed with JAL, and the plane was not even half full which meant we had four seats just for us!! The warm towels were are also a favourite for both of us. It is not often that this is given to those of us who ride in cargo!! We have already felt an earthquake, a very minor one though. Either that or there were two 747s landing at the same time in the hotel's backyard. We went to a small market across the highway to see if we could scrounge up some cheap dinner, but we were not impressed with the selection, especially the packaged hot dog option...
We are battling to stay awake for just a little longer as we try to adjust to the jetlag. We left Vancouver on Wednesday at 13:05 an got here Thursday at 14:30....we missed out on nightime from Wednesday to Thursday!! Pretty cool.... It is hard to believe that we are in Asia, still avoiding the masses that live here in our little escape at the Tobu Narita Holiday Inn. We may even enjoy our complimentary bath robes and slippers before the night is over!
Our two nights in Vancouver were great, hanging out with my sisters and Amanda's friends. As much as I do not want to live there, I can see why people move there and never go back home. The mountains, the ocean, the expensive rent...
That is all for now. Only our first night in a town we will likely not see again and so much to say.
A presto

I really enjoyed Japan when I was there for the G8 Summit in 2000. Felt some earthquakes as well, one of which woke me up in the middle of the night as the buildings were very noisy and the room was swaying.
Graet idea for keeping in touch by the way guys!
Hey there Yvon. Matt sent me a link to your blog :) Great to see you! Hope you enjoy Korea. Keiko and I are living in Washington now. All the best, Lars.
